"to provide the basis for a better understanding of the relationship of our energy use and our houses; how to reduce carbon emission and deal with energy issues sensitively in our Conservation Area; and importantly, what additional funding is available to householders for energy saving improvements."

Changeworks have provided respondents with recommendations for energy efficiency improvements in the 8 different property types, indicative costs and useful sources of further advice. The focus of the recommendations is reducing energy consumption, through identification of different areas that can be improved in all property types:

• Roofs insulating pitched/ flat roofs
  
• Windows improving single glazed windows/ restrictions on double glazing

The project encompasses the Grange area of South Edinburgh, including parts of Southside/Newington and Meadows/Morningside wards.
